For me, whisky is the spirit with the most variaties of all. I normally prefer smoky whiskies in bourbon casks, but there are also plenty of good once without smoke, aged in sherry, rum, madeira, .... Which whisky I drink depends a lot of the daily mood.

I also like to cook and it is interessting for me, to combine whisky as drink with food.

For me Whisky is produced to drink and not to collect. The collection of closed bottles only grows, as there is always something to buy, which I would like to taste. As I cannot drink the whole day, some bottles stay closed for the future.

I do not like the behaviour of the distilleries, to sell a lot of whiskies with fancy names without age indication, try to convience customers, that this is a very exclusive whisky by adding "rare", "special", "distillery reserve", "distillers choice" or similar terms and normally a lot of suger colour to implicate an aged whisky.
