About Glenglassaugh

Founded in 1875 near the coastal town of Portsoy, Glenglassaugh operated relatively unseen before being mothballed in 1986. For over two decades, the distillery remained silent, until a revival effort in 2008 brought it back into production. What makes Glenglassaugh particularly interesting to some whisky fans is this gap in its history: much of the older stock was limited and collectible, while the modern era has focused on younger releases that reflect a different production style.
