I was reading an article the other day about Stephen Fry(very famous in the UK I don`t know about the rest of Europe or the rest of the world)and it turns out he is a big whisky enthusiast. His favourite single malt is Tomatin single cask 19yrs. Does anyone else know of any famous whisky enthusiasts or indeed if there are any famous members of whiskybase. I take it that Ewan McGregor of Whiskybase isn`t thee Ewan McGregor of Trainspotting fame, or is it.

Christina Hendricks who plays Joan Holloway from the television show Madmen is a whisky enthusiast. She is a spokesperson for Johnnie Walker so we probably will not officially find out what her favorite whisky is. There can be a lot found out about that relationship with a quick internet search.

Anders Fridén (and maybe others) from the band In Flames. They may not be very famous, but they are one of the biggest metal bands of the last ten years.

The band did bottlings of Glenfarclas Family Cask and 105 some years ago.

On "That Metal Show" singer Neil Fallon from the band Clutch stated his biggest vice was single malt scotch. Clutch is even less known than In Flames but they have a very strong fan base.

Blue Oyster Cult`s Buck Dharma (guitarist) also admitted his vice was single malt scotch.

Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt has mentioned that he is a single malt scotch drinker in his stand up routine and in interviews.

Bill Murray featured in an advertising campain for Suntory Hibiki 17 but I could find any proof that whisky is actually "his" drink. Winston Churchill, Tommy Cooper and Humphrey Bogart were into whisky, Lady Gaga likes a Jameson and Dean Martin prefered J&B.

O, and let's not forget Finch and Stiflers mom from American Pie wink

Harrison Ford is a Bruichladdich man, to the extend that he managed to swindle a bunch of bottles from a single cask for himself... and of course Bruichladdich took the opportunity to bottle a cask as an Indy special.  I'd heard he selected the cask himself and that these bottles are from the same cask, but I couldn't say whether that's confirmed or not  http://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/17865/bruichladdich-1991-valinch

Mila Kunis is the new face of Jim Beam.  How much of a whiskyphile she was before that is unclear, though she has said she’s been a bourbon girl for a number of years.

It is 50 years to the day that Winston Churchill died and I know he loved a glass of Hankey Bannister. Never tried it myself.

Here are Whisky quotes from 25 famous enthusiasts. Not sure how they are labeled enthusiasts because they have a quote but they are interesting.

Looks like the comedian Amy Schumer likes whisky and recently said she would gladly smoke cigars and drink scotch with Barack Obama "at a restaurant in New Orleans."

"I am eating alone when the waiter says, 'Barack sent you this.' And it’s a glass of Lagavulin 16 year. My favorite scotch. I acknowledge with a nod and finish my meal. Like I’m the coolest bitch ever," she said. "We walk out without talking, and go to Preservation Hall and watch a bunch of different amazing jazz musicians. We smoke cigars and drink scotch and never say a word to each other."

You Should, I've tried the "Hankey Bannister 12 Year Old Regency" and liked it a lot! And it's way under 30 Euros, so excellent value for money! Cheers, D.

Two Mila Kunises?  That would heaven!  happy

I quite regret not getting two of the Indy bottles when I had the chance.  They were pricey but I really should've known how hard it would be to open it when only having a single bottle.  Some day... some day.

Mrgood, if you open that bottle, you might get an Ark of the Covenant type reaction" it's Beautiful" followed by a face melt or a head explosion.

wink
