Hi All,
RoyalScotsman (Bernhard) updated the distillery map! He placed almost all distilleries (300+) on the world map.
Check it out here:  http://www.whiskybase.com/map.php

The Tekel distillery (Ankara Whisky) is located in Ankara, Turkey.  It was government owned and operated, but has been deserted after the 2010 protests.

Nice! I wished there was a map when I planned my trip to Scotland earlier this year. Or maybe the map was already there? Anyway, perhaps there can be a link in the top menu?

It was already there but it wasn`t complete. You can find it on the front page of the base below the search & explore section.

Thank you Harv. It was very helpful. But the PO-Box-Adress of the Cradle Mountain Distillery is not exact enough. I am still looking for the following distilleries:

Altore
Bernheim
Classic Casks
Cradle Mountain
Great Outback
Hiram Walker
Kawasaki (I know it`s closed)
McDowell`s
North of Scotland (it`s closed too)
Thomson
Thursky (yes, it is from Switzerland)
Wylie Howell

I believe Hiram Walker is 1950 Riverside Drive East | Windsor, ON | N8Y 4S5 (the Cnandian Brand Heritage Centre is just up the road at 2072 - the site appears to occupy quite a stretch of road!

Nunc est bibendum - mine's a double!

Hey Bernhard.  Info on the Cradle Mountain.  Tasmania, Australia is the closest address I can find.

Bernheim is "just" a brand produced by Heaven Hill.

Great effort, thanks!
Also worth noting - Steffen, also known to some as Macdeffe, has made some google maps for distillery locations:

http://danishwhiskyblog.blogspot.hk/2010/04/google-maps-of-all-whiskydistilleries.html

UK:
http://maps.google.dk/maps/ms?hl=da&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=100104420067394646367.0004835cea9e2cd4d40a4&z=5

America:

Maybe it lists some of the ones you are stgill looking for.

Edit:
And here`s Cradle Mountain from the looks of it:

Remember - whisky scores and impressions are highly subjective and situational by nature - so don't go and buy whisky according to someone else's taste...

Strathmore was active 1957-1982. Renamed to North of Scotland 1964. Knox Forth Brewery which was just beside The Cambus complex where converted and made maltwhisky for 2 years. Converted to grain 1960. Was owned by George P.Christie, North of Scotland distilling company?! Distillery demolished 1993. Some buildings was sucked up by Cambus.

Just for the record it wasn`t the first one with that name:

Bon Accord was active 1855-1913 (Highlands East). Renamed to North of Scotland after 1896.

In my opinion North of Scotland distillery should be in the Lowland categorie and not in the Highland categorie. This distillery was right next to Cambus and that one is listed in the Lowland categorie.

Also Cameronbridge (Leven) and Carsebridge (Alloa) should be in the Lowland categorie and not in the Highland categorie.

Yes it was, but it was covered by Longrow! I changed it now and I have to fix some more.

I didn`t know that thay used the same stills for all 3, Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn. I thought there were different distilleries run by Springbank.

All of the 3 expressions are distilled at the same place. But they have 3 different stills with different condensers. More details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springbank_Distillery

Here you can see the Highland boundary line:

The distilleries North of Scotland, Cameronbridge and Carsebridge are clearly within the Lowland area...
