Considering the price performance, it is a very good whisky, you have to like peat and light funk, lacticity and island air are also a plus. Since this is an old bottling, I don't know how it compares to today's, but I found the Sinclair series, which has similar pricing, more enjoyable. Despite these, it is very good.

    Price performance: Good
Would I buy it again?: Maybe.
    • Nose
      85 85
A very funky and medicinal nose. The smoke is similar to Caol ila at first but over time it becomes more funky and medicinal and the corky, iodine effect decreases. Full green grapes and green apples with green fruits. An earthiness like coal and baking clay (pottery). Stone fruits like ripe nectarines and peaches over time. Maybe mirabelle. A strong nose despite the alcohol level. Pleasant. There is also a slight sweetness, maybe red apples like sweet Amasya apples. There is also a slight lactic side.
    • Taste
      83 83
On the palate, orange peel is added to the millet fruits. An earthy and quite dense peat. The medicinalness is also here. A medium-low bitterness does not bother much but makes itself felt. A body above the medium. Again clay, pottery. Light iodized. Funk. Mirabelles, apricot. The lactic side has receded a little but is still present; maybe yogurty, light tangy. Coal and ash. A play dough-like side. Medium-low sweetness. Complex but with its bitterness, it has a very light disturbing quality that cannot be defined as full bite.
    • Finish
      84 84
A slightly longer finish than the middle. The medicinal and coal and ash rise the most here. A bitter almond note. The phenols are very obvious. Bitterness is felt, although the funk and lactic side recede. Fruity notes mix with peat. A sufficiently complex finish.
