  1. FOXO3 Plus scored this whisky 90 points Expert Junior

    Nose:
Smooth, rounded, and instantly recognizable as Bushmills. Soft, bright sweetness, a touch of vanilla and ripe fruit. Underlying this is a calm, elegant oak note, without being intrusive. Overall, very harmonious and pleasantly balanced.

    Palate:
Typical Bushmills character: soft, creamy, and approachable. The fruity sweetness is well-balanced, accompanied by subtle spice and a light honey note. Despite the long aging process, the style remains soft and smooth, without any harsh edges.

    Departure:
This is where the influence of the barrel is most evident. The wood notes become more pronounced and take center stage – dry, spicy, and persistent. The sweetness recedes, and the wood clearly takes over. Perhaps a bit dominant for some, but well integrated.

    Conclusion:
A classically smooth Bushmills with an elegant character, its finish clearly influenced by the wood. Very easy to drink, with a finish that noticeably leans towards oak. Anyone who enjoys Bushmills' smoothness and appreciates a pronounced cask signature will find this whisky to their liking.

The Bushmills 30 Year Old New American Oak is the is the highest aged whiskey in the Causeway Collection to date.

An elusive and exclusive new collection of limited edition rare cask finished Irish single malts from the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery. Only 432 bottles of the 30 Year Old New American Oak cask are available, all of which have been exclusively released for the Irish Whiskey Collection at Dublin and Cork airports. After maturing for 14 years in oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, Helen Mulholland, Bushmills Master Blender, finished this single malt in new American oak casks for a further 16 years. Imbued with key notes of honeyed malt, the virgin oak then imparts intense flavours of vanilla, chocolate and warm wood. And where others might recask their whiskey for just six months or so, deeper waves of flavour are added by finishing the whiskey in new American oak casks for an unprecedented 16 years before bottling at cask strength (48.4% ABV) and without chill filtration in September 2020.

    ~ Colour: Rich gold
~ Nose: An immediate rich vanilla intensity, followed by warm wood spice and tropical fruit notes
~ Taste: Sensationally smooth and sweet, with vanilla and chocolate interweaving on the tongue, and a warming spiced coconut
~ Finish: Exceptionally long with toasted oak and sweet vanilla lingering on the palate
~ only 100 bottles are available this year (2020), exclusively at "THE LOOP" in Dublin & Cork Airports (€685 outside EU - €700 inside EU)
