A gorgeous nose hints at some complex tones that might get incoherent, and both the palate and the finish seem to confirm that. The spicy-legumin field brings some undeniable complexity but I'm not sure it merges totally well with the rest of the Glen Keith aromatic arsenal. Still though, some episodes of the nose were utterly splendid and the palate's evolution is nice.
    • Nose
Apples, lily of the valley, white grapes, gooseberries, rosewater, turkish delights, chlorine and wax, white flowers galore and elderberry, and on top of all that the sweetest citrus fruits. Long story short, that typical sweet-acidic-delicate trio : yes, that's a Glen Keith, and a pretty splendid one nose-wise so far. What's far more suprising is the other side of the nose, which shows many pastry notes (brownie, icing) with many spicy tones : laurel, cloves, curry, houmous, yeast, a truckload of fern ... That second aromatic field would evoke a dry sherriness, yet there's none of it here ... very intriguing ! Wasn't expecting this kind of complexity ! It's true it's not uncommon to find an herbal side in GK, but I never experienced that before. Later stabilizes on a main white chocolate note.
    • Taste
Blo said the arrival wasn't the easiest, and I agree, it's a bit harsh. But fruits are back soon : white grapes, pears, sweet citrus, mirabelles, unripe peaches, rhubarb, that waxiness again ... Just as in the nose, the pastry side then follows : croissant, icing, various cakes, rhum baba (indeed Blo, seems like I'm not dreaming !). And then again those weird spicy notes : legumin (chick peas, quinoa, sesame), laurel and fern, pepper, ...
    • Finish
Sesame indeed, that spicy-legumin side now dominates, and it gets quite austere, with strong tea, tree bark, fern again, nutshells ... Later though, sweetness comes back, with these various cakes, wax, and our beloved flowers. Not the best part though, lacks some freshness.
