A really great Springbank, with some traditionnal musty funk wrapping a battle between chalky-waxy qualities and superb overripe fruits. Bottle aeration was needed, and even then it requires a lot of patience in the glass, but is well worth it in the end. Could go even higher on later occasions. 91+/92-

Yep, bottle aeration has done its job, it's much clearer than upon opening. Yet you still feel like it's gonna have to breathe in the glass as well. In the end what you get is a splendid composition between Springbank typical musty funk (mold, linoleum, fresh goat cheese), with both mineral (parget dust, chalk, wax) and fruity (Haribo peaches, almost rotten strawberries) aspects. Very aromatic eventually, the peach candy is massive, with floral elements as well. It might have something of a great aromatic white, maybe some Gewurztraminer, without being really sweet.

Perfect alcohol integration and medium texture, very nice. The aromatic profile is almost fully displayed here again, which is always a joy. So, rinse and repeat : wax, parget dust, chalky goat cheese, and a lot of peach and rotten strawberries. Super nice. It gets more and more melted upon later sips, and especially waxy in texture.

The mustiness takes the high ground here, it's really massive. Parget dust again. There's a little white peach, and maybe one or two raisins (which might be the only time this dram really felt sherried whatsoever, mind you). Medium length. Not the best part, it could be more fruity and juicy, but still very ok.
