At first, the Tamdhu appears relatively closed and one-dimensional. Little by little it opens up and shows some interesting facets. It is dominated by a wooden spice with hints of fruit, sweetness and herbs. Right now, the aftertaste is returning with an unbelievable volume and a little forgetting the sometimes one-dimensional vein. All in all, nevertheless interesting and tasty, but in my opinion not a high-flyer.

    • Nose
Creamy amber and cloudy caramel in the glass, long and oily "legs" on the glass wall, that looks promising. The 15-year-old Tamdhu has been breathing for a few minutes, but at first the nose looks a bit closed and reserved. Little by little, fruity sherry aromas appear, blackberries and currants mix with raisins and hints of dried oranges, but somehow my nose doesn't open properly and shows their aromas. After a few minutes there are nuances of toffee and caramel, hints of milk chocolate and peaches, a few apricots are also present.
    • Taste
The first sip flows relatively tartly through the mouth, subtle wooden sharpness arises, white pepper trickles on the tongue, apricots and peaches appear thin. The tart wood note increases noticeably, a handful of herbs and spices are added. A slightly mentholic freshness is released from the spicy wood tones, dried grapes and berries lie discreetly in the background. I fancy a minimal smoke note. The second sip looks much more spicy and earthy, again a pinch of white pepper tickles the tongue. Fruit aromas are unfortunately hardly noticeable anymore, but spicy wood elements and menthol mint, perhaps also a hint of citrus fruits. The tamdhu is slightly nutty in the aftertaste.
    • Finish
The aftertaste starts slightly sweet, but much more spicy and woody. Again I form a fine smell of smoke, as well as hints of grapefruit and other citrus fruits. Fresh herbs and spices follow, in the end the aftertaste becomes oily and greasy, the peel of orange peel and ground hazelnut kernels rest on the tongue for a while.
