  1. KayMeertens scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

I compared this one to casks 6922 and 6928 from The Ultimate and it's really different from both. It's more 'sophisticated' and at the same time more woody & spicy than the 6928, while it's very different from the freshness of cask 6922. Three sherried Blair Athols from 1988, each with their own distinct character.
    • Nose
Raisin, date, mocha, prune, toffee, cinnamon, hazelnut, wood and nutmeg. With water some leather. Only when it gets time to develop I find lighter fruity notes such as peach underneath the sherry blanket.
    • Taste
Raisin, toffee, hazelnut, prune, mocha, oak, cocoa, date, cinnamon, hazelnut, wood, liquorice root, pepper, milk chocolate and leather. A little eucalyptus. When breathing out, I even get a sensation of incense in a church. Very smooth, no water required. When adding a few drops though, the powder-like cocoa mouth feel that this dram already gives is even enhanced.
    • Finish
Toffee, cocoa, cinnamon, marshmallow, nutmeg, incense and prune. Just a bit of a nutty twist of sulphur in the tail.
