  1. rottendon scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

The mouth does not cover the nose at all, it looks much younger and less woody here. Interesting combination, maybe the blend?
This should also be around 55%.

Notes from a blind online chat tasting.

The armorics can be really, really good! That would definitely have passed for me as a Scot.

Another glass, maybe therefore very shy, only after a few seconds is there at least fruit acid, looks red (berry), again Esther.
With the standing time a nice ripe nose has developed, which immediately appears very harmonious and well interwoven. A little sherry, a lot of barrel, leather and cellar, but also a few fruit notes, baked apple and pumpkin compote, nutty. Looks fresher over time, but the alcohol tickles from time to time. Warm, fresh fruit notes come to the fore. Red berries, very strong!
    • Taste
      87 87
In the mouth it is dense and oily, strong sweetness fights for dominance with bitter herbs and wins backwards. The alcohol is strong, but does not burn a bit. There is also a trace of menthol to the rear. In the second sip, the sweetness does not win as clearly, because more menthol can now be found.
    • Finish
      85 85
In the aftermath, the sweetness sticks vigorously with the menthol before it dries, just before it disappears. Overall, however, rather short. In the second sip also liquorice.
