  1. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

A rather lively and bright smoky-peaty whisky, not very diverse, but what is there is quite well balanced and collected into a single picture, drinkable, quite austere, at the same time sweet and acridly smoky.
    • Nose
Open, dry, with smoky, peaty, and ash-mineral tones in the foreground, the fragrance reveals which of them is the brighter and more expressive. Behind them, in the background, come spicy wood tones, solid wood furniture, a touch of varnish; leather goods and tobacco, a touch of dried fruit, toffee, cola, pu-erh, coffee, and dark chocolate.
    • Taste
Soft, rich, lots of phenols, charred wood, peat, ash, burnt caramel, burnt jam, burnt biscuits, creamy sweetness - toffee, fudge; dark chocolate, coffee, stout, cola, tobacco, leather goods.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, wood and smoky peat notes, tobacco, coffee, leather goods, stout, toffee, a little raisin.
