A dreamlike Glenfarclas from 1972! Old and dignified, varied and a true gentleman with a fantastic overall picture.
    Yes, I'm in heaven!

    • Nose
Dark copper with an extreme red streak shimmers in the Premium Snifter, a thick and viscous streak sticks to the glass wall, a multitude of syrup-like "legs" pull back their tracks in glass. Slightly musty and moldy, the wet forest floor comes into its own, dull pine needles and resinous notes rest in the glass, spicy oak tones release old leather and nuances from dried tobacco leaves. Red grapes and berries exude their solid aroma, currants play with blackberries, morello cherries combine with raisins and grated old orange peel, freshly cut branches and twigs emerge, caramelized sugar plays with forest honey and hints of fruity dessert wine. The nose is incredibly complex and varied, the next moment velvety vineyard peach and grated dark chocolate come into their own. In the background are subtly dried mint and old meadow herbs.
    • Taste
The first sip flows through the mouth, flat and slightly earthy. Wet leather mixes with sour cherries and caramel, spicy oak tones end in apricot and vineyard peach, old meadow herbs mix with resin and a few drops of furniture polish. Old and hard caramel falls in cocoa powder, minimally roasted hazelnuts and a hint of eucalyptus, honey and hints of cedar wood, sweet dark chocolate and slightly resinous fir twigs appear. Old wood tones are creamy on the palate, old peach plays with dark apricot, zest of oranges and minimal tones of grapefruit and dried peppermint.
    • Finish
Dark grapes and berries rest on the palate, creamy and mild, peach and apricots stick to the tongue, chocolate and hints of nougat end in minimal leather and cedar wood. Temporary creamy hazelnuts come into play, in the background are old peppermint leaves and slightly sweet tobacco. In the aftertaste, meadow herbs and nuances of furniture polish appear minimal. The aftertaste is incredible with yet expressive ...
The wonderfully tasteful and old flavors rest for a long time on the palate and on the tongue, with chocolate and hazelnuts the aftertaste fades away and leaves a wonderful mixture of peppermint, chocolate, oranges, hazelnuts and cedarwood.
