Wonderful, I love the fruity and soft way that a wine barrel gives the otherwise extremely peaty and smoky Octomore. Fruity, sweet and peaty, that's how an Octomore has to be for me!

    • Nose
The Octomore in the Premium Snifter shimmers wonderfully red, thick "legs" stick to the glass wall, the beguilingly sweet peat aroma is perceptible from afar ... Sweet peat with sticky fruit sweetness rises powerfully, hints of bacon poured out in butter flash, a colorful one Fruit basket distributes its fruity and sweet aroma. Grilled apricots and strawberries, cherries, currants and blackberries, vineyard peach garnished with a hint of fly ash, oily and greasy, a hint of campfire and burnt wood. The high alcohol content is wonderfully soft and harmonious, with minimal floral and grassy hints.
    • Taste
The Octomore flows sweet and fruity over the tongue, little by little peat and burnt wood tones come into their own, fly ash and oily pancetta, caramel with a hint of milk chocolate, the alcohol also looks wonderfully soft and well integrated in the mouth. Smoky wood tones give way to a slightly peppery sharpness, ash and embers emerge, red fruit ends sweet on the palate.
    • Finish
Mild and voluminous at the same time, peat and smoke stick to the palate, the mouthfeel becomes oily and greasy, hazelnuts appear, the sweet red fruits gradually fade, but hints of eucalyptus and menthol now appear on the tip of the tongue. The voluminous and smoky peat taste stays in my memory for a long time and puts a smile on my face!
