It just arrived in a package and I couldn't resist to open it instantly.

Nose: Some green, wet grass. Soft nuts. A hint of citrus and green apples. The alcohol is present and noticeable. Some bitter herbal notes, like in a certain teas. Cloudy summerday on a green lawn without flowers. With more time it gets softer, warmer and sweeter.

Aroma: Surprisingly thin. Brighter nuts are coming, like macademia. Only a tiny hint of bitterness, which then turns into nuts again. Very fresh. The edges seem polished out.

Finish: Astonishingly long! Marzipan. Slight bitterness. Mouth-drying. After several minutes the green apples are returning.

Conclusion: Well, what to do with this highly limited spirit? The young age is still recognizeable. I have tasted 4 Octave-Casks during the last 10 days and they were all not good and not bad either. This one fits the trail: It's entirely ok. It tastes like a 10 y. old Whisky. My first association would be traits of Macallan. So is it worth around 55€? If you like the other octave experiments: Yes. I have tasted a lot worse. Otherwise 40€ would be appropiate. But where do you get cask strength in this price segment these days anyway? ... I'll have to give it another try with some drops of water. Edit: Tried another 2 drams with some water drops. No big changes. Bitterness seems to gain more impact.
