  1. Hemdl scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

He's in a good mood, no question. An extremely active barrel that has left an almost lovely Port Charlotte. If you like sweet malts with some smoke, this is the place for you.
    • Nose
Nice, really dirty sherry nose. Dark peat smoke, red berries, some leather. Again and again fruity-sweet notes flash, in between the usual strong and slightly earthy smoke of Port Charlotte. The anticipation is great, it makes the nose really enjoyable.
    • Taste
Hui, that's cute. Strong-sweet Sherry takes over the scepter from the first second. Honey-covered and sugared fruits wherever the eye looks. The smoke surprisingly restrained. It must have been an incredibly active keg at work here. The Por Charlotte is still recognizable, at the same time the sherry but so dominant and sweet that it comes along almost sweet. I'm torn, if that is not too sweet for me. Joa - a taster of less sugar would have done it here too.
    • Finish
Medium. First, the sherry remains the dominant factor, followed by something slightly herbier oak. The smoke then initiates the finish, which could be slightly stronger.
