Muted fruit aromas dominate the nose, the taste is dominated by tart fruit and wood notes. Every Family Cask has its own personal character, this FC maintains the balance between fruit and wood.

    • Nose
Dark amber rests in the Premium Snifter, an oily and syrupy streak sticks to the glass wall. Dark fruits emerge when steamed, hazelnuts and raisins play with apricots and oranges, caramelized sugar and a hint of toffee emerge. There are minimal hints of grapefruit and sour cherries, a subtle leather aroma mixes with the crumbs of dried tobacco leaves, nuances of chocolate and cinnamon follow, a touch of fresh mint is discreetly in the background. Slightly dry wood tones mix with a bouquet of meadow herbs, cocoa and milk chocolate are sweet on the nose.
    • Taste
The Glenfarclas flows mildly and slightly tart through the mouth, sour cherries and currants mix with strawberries and creamy caramel. The spiciness tickles the tongue minimally before spicy wooden elements spread warming over the palate. The second sip flows flat over the tongue, briefly spicy wood and abrasion from orange and grapefruit peels, caramel and hazelnuts merge with mentholic freshness and old herbs to a bitter and spicy melange on the palate. Hints of sour cherries and red berries end in drier wood tones.
    • Finish
The minimal sharpness still tickles the tip of the tongue, spicy and tart wood tones warm the palate, mint and citrus fruits refresh the palate. Caramel and hazelnuts end in dark wood tones with subtle hints of resin and fir branches. The aftertaste is long-lasting and voluminous, with a touch of furniture polish and roasted hazelnuts the aftertaste fades away.
