The nose is extremely changeable and capricious ... An impressive interplay of fruity volume, lush sweetness and restrained, timid fruit and wood tones whet the appetite for the first sip. The aromas also alternate in terms of taste. Sometimes sweet and dark fruit dominate, shortly afterwards dark and tart wood tones rest on the palate, this Glenfarclas convinces me with its changeable and complex nature. Tastes and pleases!

    • Nose
Light amber shines in the glass, on the glass wall of my Premium Snifter oily "legs" pull their long tracks back into the glass. Raisins and abrasions from old orange peel come into their own, hard toffee and caramel show up timidly, apricots and dark peaches emerge from dried fruit and wood notes. The nose appears fruity, but withdraws more and more, meadow herbs and a hint of mint emerge, in the background there are subtle abrasions and zests of dried grapefruit peel and spicy wood tones. Suddenly the nose picks up speed again and impresses with sweet and dried grapes and berries, tangerines and caramelized sugar come into their own with a pinch of cinnamon and cocoa, milk chocolate comes up, the nose becomes extremely sweet and fruity.
    • Taste
The first sip flows powerfully over the tongue, voluminous alcohol warms the palate and leaves a subtle spiciness on the tongue. A pinch of white pepper sticks to the tongue with a wooden edge and stimulates the saliva, dried grapes and berries rest in the stimulated saliva. Dark chocolate and spicy wooden elements end after the second sip tart and slightly bitter on the tip of the tongue, slightly resinous pine needles and dark wood tones come into their own. Dark chocolate and hints of furniture polish, a hint of wet leather and tobacco, followed by dark spiciness with a pinch of crushed pepper. Dried meadow herbs and abrasion from old grapefruit peels end tart on the palate.
    • Finish
Dark wood and fruit notes stick voluminously on the palate, pleasant spiciness envelops the mouth in cozy warmth, hazelnuts rest in the creamy saliva under the tongue. In the middle, the aftertaste shows its creamy and dark side, tart wood tones play with dark and sometimes sweet fruit notes, chocolate and hazelnuts rest on the tongue.
