[November, 2021] Oops, another extremely high-scored paedophilic dram which has to be investigated, no doubt...

...and this is just another flawless young peated dram like so many others (which still do sleep in their casks to grow adult, and I had the chance to sample). Most probably I am too old to understand the secret wonders of young "childish" drams, sorry for that.
    • Nose
      86 86
The colour is jonquiripe corn and the nose offers a surprisingly mature profile for a 4-years old - but hey, still this smells young and rather simple. There are lots of vanilla aromas (as if I sniff on a fresh bourbon vanilla stick) with significant peat notes and firm woods. All pretty balanced and nice, no doubt. What else? To be honest: nothing.
    • Taste
      86 86
The taste is very simple on barley sugars, peat and wood - the holy whisky trinity and an ever-winning recipe. Is there anything special about it? To be honest, no. This is flawless and balanced with all what one could expect from a young peated malt but seriously: I do not find anything to hype this dram (most probably my taste buds are too dull). Sorry folks.
    • Finish
      87 87
The initial mouthfeel is warming and instantly coating, this is a great texture and a high-quality spirit without doubts. The finish is long and adds more barley sugars beside an increasingly drying-ashy mouthfeel. I can imagine this might become a fine malt once it gets older - but still this is a simple little whisky child which needs a lot more time to grow adult. Water turns the nose ashier and the taste sweeter and destroys the balance of both hence I prefer the neat dram.
