[December, 2018] It is quite a while ago that I tasted an Agency bottling and because I will meet Carsten on Friday I have to prepare...

...and this is another high quality bottling that I really like. It offers the delicate fruity Traditional Scotch profile of Glen Keith without any flaw or off-note, bottled at a perfect age (we will never know if this cask would have improved further on but it is certainly not over the top). Another fine pick of The Agency, as usual...
    • Nose
      89 89
The colour is yellow gold and the nose offers the typical Glen Keith fruitiness I hoped for. It is an adorable mix of both home-grown and exotic fruits with honey, spicy and waxy aromas. Delicate and subtle and truly Traditional Scotch with no off-note or imbalance that I can find. By the way, this nose vanishes rather quickly upon oxidation so take the first sniff right after serving the dram (or the best will be gone)...
    • Taste
      89 89
The taste is fruity-sweet with stronger spices than the nose and fine molten barley sugars. It is greatly chewable and releases more fruity, honey, waxy and appropriate wooden flavours this way that all are nicely balanced. Some water releases waxy and oily aromas in the nose and turns the taste (even) more quaffable while the finish gets more (white) peppery. I like this dram best a little reduced to about 43% abv.
    • Finish
      90 90
The initial mouthfeel is warming and coating with some minor peppery moments that are fine to counter the enourmous sweetness. The finish is long and gets more spicy while keeping the overall fruity-sugary-spicy balance. Towards the end a delicious chocolatey flavour pops up that I really like. No distracting bitter or drying feeling at all, I like this!
