  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

A Bow Street era bottling of Crested Ten. Probably somewhere end 1960's. Bow Street started with these Crested Ten in 1963 before they introduced their own brand 'Jameson' in 1968. Tnx Zoltan for the sample!
    • Nose
Start dusty with the characteristic bold and robust oily style of pure pot Still. Heavy husk smell. Dried apricots and figs. Some tangerines and orange zest. Cigar boxes and old leather at the background. Waxed furniture. The nose reminds me of John's Lane Gold Label expressions from the 1950's and 1960's, then the biggest competitor of Bow Street in Ireland.
    • Taste
Very creamy. Many apricots and dates again. Also orange marmalade. Freshness of grapefruit. Zestiness in combination with leafiness. Cedar wood later on. Tobacco at the end. This should be a mix of pot still and grain whiskey, however the pure pot still oiliness is clearly present.
    • Finish
Medium long. Dry. A little pepper. Cinnamon. Liquorice. Perfectly balanced. I love these old Bow Street bottlings so much.
