    • Nose
Even if I find it a little closed, it is of a great depth, of a discreet and sweet exoticism, of a milky finesse, with accents of muscat and flowers.
    • Taste
Fluid and milky at the same time, it gives pride of place to exotic fruits.
    • Finish
It's when you think you've reached the maximum of exotic aromas that this explosion of mangoes arrives in the finale, with sparkling spices and these accents of cognac and leather! Magnificent !

These 89-91 Irish have a great and deserved reputation. I think they go down as some of the best bottlings of the decade 2010-2020. Not a small achievement, and one that I believe will appreciate with time.
    • Nose
      91 91
Very fruity, juicy, kiwi, dragon fruit, guava, lychee. Moss, tropical algae. Mandarin zest, paraffin, a little grease. “A garden shed”, as my friend puts it. Pretty accurate, I think.
    • Taste
      90 90
Juicy, quenching fruits. Mandarin, kiwi, lychee, mango. A spicy edge (white pepper). Moss, grease, with fruits building.
    • Finish
      94 94
Oh yes, big mango notes building with other tropical fruits. Such as, lychee, guava, white peach, dragon fruit, kiwi, passion fruit. The finish is where it really shines in my opinion. Very long finish all on tropical, juicy fruits. Beautiful. Uber fruity, much like some other legendary malts. High praise, but these Irish are in that category, I think.

An Irish a little closed, shy, not as sexy as many of his brothers and sisters.
    • Nose
      88 88
      Nose lightly on the solvent.
We start with white fruit, apple and pear.
Acacia honey, light hay, white flower.
Then a little exoticism on the kiwi, the dragon fruit.
      White pepper, light camphor.
      Light rose water.
    • Taste
      88 88
In the mouth it is oily.
We have a little more wood, and vanilla, honey, a little toffee. A little cinnamon and white pepper.
The fruit is a little more expressive, on pear, apricot, mango, banana, kiwi.
    • Finish
      89 89
Long finish on the fruit in syrup. We are in the continuity of the nose in more light. We also have more white flowers, and roses.
Eucalyptus, white pepper, caramel, brown sugar.
This is the most successful part of this dram.

[April, 2017]  I had a tasting sip at the Limburg Whisky Fair and scored it with preliminary 89 points.  It is a very fruity and quaffable dram, actually quite dangerously...

Fruity, floral, rose water, vanilla, creme brulee, honeydew, some green fruits, bag of exotic fruits, green banana, lime, perfume - not bad
    • Taste
      90 90
Little punchy, sirupy, subtle sweetness, vanilla, more floral notes, caramel, butter cream, fruity, banana, green apple, little citric - very good
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium long, warm, fruity, green touch, grapefruit

Very pleasant and quite drinkable Irish example.
    • Nose
      91 91
Loads of tropical fruit such as pineapple and guava and banana, then grassy, bit of orange zest, light camphor
    • Taste
      90 90
Tropical fruit everywhere, grass, citrus candy
    • Finish
      90 90
Touch of oak spice, tinned tropical fruits, orange zest, moderate finish

Straw gold pour. Nose is bright with lots of light fruits, and a touch musty and darker than the 1989 Bushmills single cask. Nice integrated peach, apple, pineapple. Some musty, yeasty notes. Mouth is big upfront with alcohol heat, tropical fruits. Some good engine oil and toolshed. Wow, this is one of the better Irish whiskies I've had. Has enough musty /dry flavors to balance the brighter, fruity ones. Love it.
