  1. Sporx scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Little smoke, maritime, citrus fruit (orange)

Again only little smoke, nice sweetness, wood spice, little salt, young and a little less metallic than the Storm

Medium length, light sweetness, chilli catch

On a bank by the North Sea from 79 to 80

    • Nose
Citrus sweetness and sea air are underpinned by classic Talisker aromas: smoke and struck match. The spices reveal a peppery olfactory sensation.
    • Taste
Sweet and suave, coating and tingling, its attack is very slightly smoky. The sweetness quickly becomes more pungent and saline, with hints of fleur de sel caramel.
    • Finish
Long and warm, it is also fresh and punctuated by a powerful peppery note, carried away by a hint of smoke.

Talisker Skye is the Isle of Skye's oldest distillery's ode to its contrasting landscape. Since 2015, the whisky has been produced directly on the rough sea and matured in American refill and toasted oak casks, with a slightly larger proportion of toasted casks. This gives the single malt the maritime-smoky note to get the feeling of spending a day on the coast of the Isle of Skye.

At best, "average" - is that really from the great Talisker distillery?
    • Nose
subtle nose: low smoke, citrus, orange, vanilla; [G] [A]
    • Taste
first soft, mild and sweet, caramel, increasingly comes seasoning, oak, pepper; noticeable alcohol; obviously young!
    • Finish
medium-length, sweet and spicy finish, which abruptly dies away; slightly alcoholic!

  7. RichardMayston scored this whisky 56 points Expert Senior

Quite drinkable, but I wouldn't buy it again.
    • Nose
Weak smoke, Light, maritime, bit of rotting fruit, not the best
    • Taste
Bit weak, round soft, slight peat. Quite sweet. It's like it is toned down sweetened 10yo to make it more novice friendly. Good that it is a strong abv.
    • Finish
      Slightly bitter

    • Nose
Peat, fresh fruit, a little vanilla, bread crumbs.

A little light for a Talisker.
    • Taste
"Surface" peat, it's there but not very prominent.

Slightly salty. Fresh garden fruits, apples and pears.
    • Finish
Medium. There's some spicyness evolving, warming, and the peat re-emerge.
