  1. MaltMartin Plus scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Unique whiskey from a time when it still was possible to produce 'Straight Bourbon' Whiskey in Canada. Keep in mind that this whisky was distilled and bottled (in Seagram's famous and now defunct Waterloo distillery) during prohibition in the U.S. Cross tasting with a Canadian Club 1929 which was bottled in the same year. Tasted together with St. Pauli. Try to purchase this miniature as well. Its so much fun to taste!
    • Nose
The nose starts very dusty and, as St Pauli would say, husky. Lots, and I really mean, lots of beeswax, shoe polish and dried apricots. Burlap sacks with just harvested onions. But also associations of burnt wood, parafine and diesel oil. Later on more on old leather and cigar boxes.
    • Taste
Very astringent with pine wood, unmalted barley and chaff. Quite a lot of resin. Touch of sandal wood and gingerbread. Bitter-coffee and hickory as well. Even some marmite. Spices of caraway and clove. Juniper berries at the background.
    • Finish
Quite long. Ginger. Cinnamon. Menthol at the end. Unnecessary to mention that the profile of this old Canadian produced (!)bourbon is something I have never come accross earlier. Probably very old-skool but also very exciting.
