sample from @thewhiskybarrista, recommended as a silage bomb. thanks!
    • Nose
at first on sherbert lemons, then here's the farmyard, it's totally silage and there's something slightly-off dairy here, whey powder, all sitting alongside a gentle acidity.

(rather oxidized heel of?) OB 10 is much more vegetal by comparison, on swedes and leaves. clearly because the organic matter has not been given as much time to decompose ;-)
    • Taste
initially more on manure now, then vegetal, compost and silage. There's a bleachy and metallic note too, which verges on unharmonious but in this wacky context it works. very long finish on dank seashells, lemon juice and brine. For all the extremities of flavour, the form is on the other hand soft and measured, which delivers the experience perfectly. It's quite simple in a way but a superb easy drinking Ledaig.

Càrn Mòr Ledaig 19 year (1997-2017) 52.9% ‘hogshead’

N: diesel, warm electronics, Chardonnay, shell fish of all kinds, sardines, wet wool, bay leaf, Tin, Lemon juice, tart and acidic nose. Peat, of course. Big nose.
T: tart and acidic to start, salty brine, ash, wool, lemon, not quite creamy, but a nice richness.
F: ashy, mentol, Black licorice, lemon, peat, buttery. Love the finish.

    88/100

Another great Ledaig. Less cask influence this time and more funk. Doesn’t quite hit as high as the cadenhead 19 yr Ledaig, but very enjoyable.
