Nose

Orangenhain, saftige Früchte, Blüten, Schalen, dazu Mango, Aprikosen, ungewachste langsam schrumpelnde Äpfel - Wachs, Wald-Honig, herb frische Eiche, schöne süß-saure Balance, Tannine, herbe Fassnoten ohne Bitterkeit, kräftiger Tabak, Vaille, etwas Schokolade

Taste

I notice this has scores from 82-97 so some varied opinions.

This is the issue I have with Arran official bottlings that I have tried, they all fail to deliver on the highest level yet there are some outstanding independents, why is that?

Anyway 84-86 is a fair score, its nice but not worth 200 euro

Edit

My final thought  is that it is slightly on the bitter side which detracts from the overall profile,  I think this lacks a bit of balance.

Nose

Expressive, the sherry is prominent, fudge, a little ginger, some brandy notes (similar), cafe latte, some chocolate orange.

Taste

Strong attack with a fight from the start between the bitter and sweet notes.

Its a little thin at first but then seems to become more syrupy which I find quite strange. he bitter notes grow with some sweet cakes notes, biscuit, very slight almond notes with a little chocolate but overall I would describe it as pleasant.

Finish

Not quite medium but pleasantly warming with no burn.

Comments

This in my view promised more than it delivered

Its good but for the money should be better.

Farbe: Maisgelb
83 Punkte (Nase: 88 / Geschmack: 80 / Finish: 82)

Color
Deep copper
Nose

Honey, caramelized orange, sour apple, vanilla, coconut.
Sherry is very restrained.

Taste

Perfect sweetness, intense fruitiness (peach, pear and banana)
and vivid acidity. Magnificent spices. Enough sherry. Direct hit!

Finish

Long, sweet, fruity

Comments

The best Arran I've ever tasted.
Flawless ratios of sherry, sweetness, fruitness and sourness!
