    Nose

The Signatory Vintage whiskies, bottled at 43% ABV, used to be surprisingly affordable – and I always had the feeling that particularly good casks were selected for this strength. This typical style is also evident here: delicate, mild, and decidedly "gentlemanly".
Fine, elegant oak, never overpowering. Accompanied by light fruit notes, a touch of honey, and a subtle spiciness. Everything blends harmoniously; nothing stands out.

    The taste

Surprisingly present on the palate for 43% ABV. Mouth-filling and pleasantly warm, with a distinct but well-balanced oak spice. The hogsheads add structure and depth without masking the character. For its relatively low alcohol content, it comes across as robust and well-balanced.

    Conclusion

A very successful, classic Speyside whisky with elegant maturity and beautiful cask balance. However, I must say that I preferred the Tormore 1995 and the Glenburgie 1955 slightly more – they seemed more complex and multifaceted.
