  1. Tomek scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Smell: more sulfuric than the previous one, also swamps, tobacco, cherries, plum jam, leather, silage,
Taste: fruity, sulfur, cherries, grapes, wet skin,
    Finish: oak-fruity, cast iron
    Grade: 6

  2. wncvirus scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

Nose: Strawberry chocolate, sherry raisins, plums
Taste: Along with the first sip, powerful notes of sherry slightly dusty. In the background I notice a ripe strawberry and red currant.
Rating: 91 | 100 Finish quite long and of sherry flavor with the addition of raisins. Well, a very good position. Taste notes quite deep, nicely complex. It is worth trying and maybe even buying. I like such flavors!

  3. Drk Neknul scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Very successful, fat sherry malt. Only the sulfur hints prevent an even better rating for my taste.

  4. Baanaanaabob scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

I guess this one can be polarising, deep intense sherry, tobacco, leather, bitter orange, coffee, dark fruits, I love it.

    • Nose
First, methane gas. Then plum jam, damp soil, rotten wood. Old cognac. Sour cherry jam. Sangria. Ethereal with eucalyptus, mint and sage.
    • Taste
Oily, sweet, spicy. Dark cherries, blood oranges, raspberries. Earl Gray tea. Crepes with chocolate and brown sugar. Bark, some pepper.

  7. Dram Dracula scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

I cannot taste anything else but the sherry. If that is the whole point, mission accomplished.

Boah is delicious, you can not say more about that. I could get it.
    • Nose
As if one smelled of a freshly prepared cocoa, in connection with the alcohol I always like to speak of Lumumba, which is quite good here, at the right angle I have a touch of sulfur with it, which I personally always find exciting, there are raisins and rotten old wood, Lumumba describes the nose for me but 80% sufficient, who does not like it.
    • Taste
as expected full-bodied, oily, starts sweet, raisin syrup, hanuta, some licorice, here are the raisins dominant and the cocoa only to divine, the second sip I then suddenly again the cocoa much clearer, also a little espresso, bittersweet, the second Sip is very different from the first, it makes a whisky really exciting, the alcohol is super integrated, you quickly forget that you have over 50% in the glass.
    • Finish
hinterrauus then clearer nuts, becoming woodier, but still these sweet-walled raisins, the mouth is almost sticky, lingers for a long time, even here at the second sip less sweet, apparently my mouth has got used to it, nice nutty

This Whisky was sold for 200€ at Whisky Auction (September 2017).

The epitome of of a sherry bomb, a certainty to hit all the right spots with fans of this profile.
    • Nose
Well, hello! As the colour already suggest, this is a sherry bomb. Quite savory with a nice amount of cured meat. Some shoe polish too. But there's also cinnamon, raisins, cocoa powder and a whole array of dried fruits. A whiff of sulphur, which I alway finds works strangely well in a sherried Glenrothes.
    • Taste
Rich and syrupy mouthfeel. Cherries, figs, bitter dark chocolate. Espresso too. Plenty of spices as well. Cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon. It's all there. Somewhat meaty and fairly dry. Lovers of sherried whiskies live for this stuff.
    • Finish
Spicy, dark chocolate. Drying and long.

The nose is the best part. Very complex.                                               Compared with Glenrothes 24 Cadenhead Small Batch.
    • Nose
Coffee, syrup, orange, strawberries, butter scotch and chocolate. Blossom, later some forest fruits - black currant, peach and nuts - pecan and noga.
    • Taste
Fruity, orange, syrup, some pepper and again coffee.
    • Finish
      Drying with mint and liquorice.

In the nose, in the entrance and in the body big cinema.

Also tolerates some water and then gets a little sweeter and creamier.

Alone the finish and reverberation screw him 90, because then something too bitter and dry.

Reminds me a little bit of Cadenhead's Glenrothes Small Batch 1990 24yo (https://www.whiskybase.com/whisky/65367/glenrothes-1990-ca) but this bottling from Whisky-Fässle is actually sweeter, more fruity and better
    • Nose
Heavy sherry notes, hints of Xmas cake but also little leathery, toffee, espresso, dark fruits, plums, meaty, pata negra
    • Taste
Punchy, pretty oily and liquorice, more meaty and leathery, truck loads of sherry wood, dried fruits, subtle sweetness
    • Finish
Long and burning, fortunately sweeter and little zesty

COLOR: deep dark mahogany NOSE: rum grape nut, Mon Cheri, furniture polish, cognac, sherry always present. TASTE: Not as sweet as I expected with the color. The sherry slightly towards Fino. Bittersweet chocolate ala men's chocolate.
Departure: medium in length CONCLUSION: Go here strongly from a first fill sherry keg, but let me teach you a better. For sherry fans certainly an alternative to Glendronach & Co. For me, the Glenrothes could be a little sweeter, but that's a matter of taste.

Madness, dark as the night .... this Glenrothes promises a lot.
Although you actually do not have to worry about that with Jens!

    Notes follow .......
