5cl sample by Erwin (thanks!!!) - my first Bruichladdich with a two-digit number of years. The tension increases with the minutes in which the glass slowly takes on hand warmth.
    • Nose
      91 91
Oh - is there alcohol in this? If I wasn't 100% sure that I could blindly trust the donor of this sample, I might get the idea that everything was bottled here except whisky.
The nose means: He WANTS to please and doesn't want to show any weaknesses; The association: a carpet of flowers woven with pieces of toffee and vanilla.
    • Taste
      93 93
The alcohol announces itself ("You didn't really think there was no alcohol in here, did you?"): It tingles gently at first, then more clearly, without wanting to be obtrusive. In the climax, a tightly woven tingling blanket that takes possession of the tongue, then takes over the mouth; the sweetness, felt right from the start, now gets wings, rebels and swirls around the ceiling like a freshly hatched butterfly.
    • Finish
      92 92
At some point it becomes clear: the drop now wants to take the next step, there is no mistake. HE wants to determine where to go, you have nothing to report; the almost perfect metamorphosis from flowery sweetness to pleasant bittersweet. "Now take a sip," you think you can hear from the glass. No problem, I like to be guided.
The tender, tart notes on the palate are reminiscent of the wistful feeling when you turn the corner after waving goodbye and know: it will be a few long months before you see your dear friends again.

And overall I would like to give this experience 92 points.
