Just delicious. Really great, but quite "simple". But I'm done. 87 points!
    • Nose
Sweet sherry nose. Definitely PX! Sherry, plums, leather, oak, almonds. Very, very pleasant. Delicious. Very promising. Sweet dates in rum.
    • Taste
Plum jam, boiled up. Leather, almonds also here, but sweetened almonds! The Nachschmecken is sweet and juicy. Gorgeous!
    • Finish
Long, sweet and slowly spicier. The oak will catch up in the end.

    blind tasting

Wow, what a board ... the chocolate jumps to you immediately, full spice, rough sea and red fruits ... seems a bit closed ... time and water follow ....

Oh, that seems familiar to me! Schoki, dark cherries, plums, dipped in forest honey, yes, I stride through the fern thicket. At the back I smell the sea, a trace of salt is on my lips ... now the glass really wants to be on the lips. But the nose still wants to sniff, no, now cost, och please, still sniff ....

In the mouth with 3 drops of water comes the full fruit board, sweet and juicy flatter the palate, the alcohol is so perfectly integrated, which can be kept forever in the mouth. After a while it gets drier, now the oak comes through, but again men's chocolate on the finish. Very clean sherry barrel without any sulphurous notes, but fruit and chocolate without end! Conclusion: hammer part!

    Great stuff!
    • Nose
Plums, old leather, cedar cigar box, cherries, rum raisins, orange peppered with cloves, dates, some mint, some cinnamon
    • Taste
Pfeffrig the palate is attacked and heat spreads, in addition to sweet cherries, strong coffee, sour orange with cinnamon, tobacco, dark chocolate, mouth-filling, syrupy, of alcohol to feel anything
    • Finish
He says good-bye, with espresso, dark chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, plums and walnuts,

Round and balanced in perfection. Of course, very PX-dominated, but extremely tasty and no junk, very sweet, a lot of cinnamon and coffee, the alcohol is almost perfectly integrated. For me taste and finish are even better than the nose (often it is the other way around). Very nice whisky (if you like PX!)
What is there to say critically? Not much: The PX barrel is naturally slightly overlapping and very clear in its flavors. It stays straightforward and not extremely complex. But what he has, he can do very well. In his favor, he could go smoothly as a standard bottling and not as a single cask (with rough edges). I'm not surprised that he comes across a broad fan base.

Addendum: In a second tasting, after the whisky has spent a while in a half-full bottle, I had violent sulfur and maggiaromas in the nose but also in the taste. The whisky is unrecognizable.
    • Nose
A strong full first nose, immediately some oak, sweet caramel, milk chocolate, raisins, oranges, cinnamon, dried figs and plums, very sweet coffee, after a lot of sweetness is added some seasoning (probably Muscat), the age makes something noticeable , but it remains mainly a sweet tasty nose, no alcohol in the nose, with the time is added a slight nut note
    • Taste
First very sweet, sticky, like liqueur, then very very pleasant reserved spiciness, oak, coffee, dark chocolate, plums, a lot of cinnamon, jam, cocoa, a little orange, no alcohol
    • Finish
Coffee, some blackberry jam, cinnamon, oak, dry and at the same time sweet, warming, a few fresh herbs are added, sweet creamy milk, it sticks again in the mouth, insanely long great finish

A great Glendronach. The nose is extremely complex and wonderful, the taste completes the great nosing. The Glendronach also convinces with its taste. Sherry aroma and intense oak flavors alternate. A great whisky which makes me want more, I like it very much!
    • Nose
Dark berries and milk chocolate pour out of the glass while Glendronach shimmers deep amber in the glass. Tough streaks stick to the glass wall for a long time and slowly find their way back into the glass. Raisins, date and a fruity aroma of orange mixes into a dreamlike sherry nose. In the background, the 51.2% alcohol content discreetly noticeable. A touch of cherries and plums play together while a sweet and spicy woody note is created.
    • Taste
Strong and intense oak flavors determine the first sip before extreme and fruity sweetness makes its way out of the spicy oak. A pleasant sharpness with a fine pepper note is created and exudes supple warmth. Espresso and tart oak tones emerge, the mouth area fills with an incredible creaminess. At the end of the taste, a voluminous walnut flavor with a fine hint of chocolate is created. A great fruitiness is above all else.
    • Finish
The finish begins with a pleasantly sharp note. Freshly brewed espresso mixes with a hint of leather and tobacco. Dark and tart oak tones harmonize perfectly with the coffee and dark chocolate. Spicy wood exudes a long and chubby mouthfeel. At the end the finish flattens relatively quickly and leaves a subtly bitter oak aroma.

A great Glendronach, an absolute buy recommendation !! :)
    • Nose
Dark chocolate and a fruit mix of oranges, plums and raisins alternate with spicy, slightly leathery oak. Warm, sweet sherry is always present.
    • Taste
What a blast !! Sweet plums, raisins, plums and cinnamon mingle with coffee and cocoa notes. The slightly bitter oak plays discreetly with. Everything is wonderfully complex and balanced. With a drop of water, the taste experience intensifies again.
    • Finish
Laaaang lingering and warming, salivation on the cheeks, slowly becoming slightly dry and warming. Wow!

A sherry whisky that can inspire me again. A nice mix of fruit and spices. Well balanced. Neither too liqueur sweet, nor too saccharine, nor too alcoholic. This whisky is just fun.
    • Nose
The nose impresses with a Fruchtpotpourrie. In addition to sweetish notes that are flattered by a spice that makes you want to taste immediately.
    • Taste
And what follows here is awesome. The taste of dark red fruits spreads throughout the mouth, accompanied by a pleasant sweetness. Add to that a decent breeze of dark chocolate with a coffee flavor. In addition, the whisky boasts a pleasant subtle spiciness and perfectly integrated alcohol.
    • Finish
In the finish, the pleasant spice gains the upper hand. Immediately the association comes to speculoos spices. Add a touch of orange. A great finish that will satisfy both the beautiful nose, as well as the really great taste.

What a wonderfully opulent aroma comes from the glass. Delicious, sweet, dark fruits. Raisins, plums, dates and cherry notes too - the PX barrel does everything. My nose is flashed with my favorite aromas. All these great scents, framed by leather. Heavenly. Almond flavor, chocolate pudding, maggot herb and a trace of glue. Grated orange peel, rum stew, plum jam with a hint of cinnamon. The alcohol carries the aromas wonderfully, but is itself reserved. The promising color, the fat legs on the glass increase my anticipation.

He steps in vigorously and immediately lines the entire palate. What a taste explosion. Spicy and sparkling, spicy notes appear between raisins and cherries. Endless salivation. Sure, Fass is totally dominant, but what did I expect? Exactly.

The spicy finish just doesn't want to end. Bittersweet in various variations, sweet bitterness, dryness sets in. Nougat, sprinkled with coffee powder, old leather armchair. Cherry pits, almonds and dark chocolate again. I'm in sherry heaven.
