[May, 2017]  As an usual routine (during every Scotland visit) I stepped into the Green Valley shop in Tyndrum and bought their latest bottling (after a tasting sip to check it is not sulphur-spoiled).

Again this is a very nice bottling. The private bottlings of the Green Valley shop are usually excellent and fairly priced, but the price tags on all other whiskies rather reflect they are located at a highly frequented touristic spot...
    • Nose
      89 89
The nose offers a fine sherry and nutty profile with some astonishing OBFs (I did not expect this in such a young whisky, but I like it). Some hints of orange peel and spices too.
    • Taste
      86 86
The taste is again very nutty and sherryish with lots of different fine layers to discover. Peppers, hints of salt, raisins, dark chocolate and many more pop up one after the other. Some water releases more OBFs in the nose (aceton, very nice!) and makes the whole dram smoother without taking too much power off it. I like it that way better.
    • Finish
      88 88
The mouthfeel is quite punchy due to the high abv but it nicely warms and coats the tongue. Some hot, peppery moments stay for a while. The finish is long and comes in different waves, more fruity than the palate and more (barley) sugary too. By the way, all nicely balanced and imbedded in a firm but not dominating wooden structure.
