A powerful and intense Malt! Toasted aromas, tart and yet spicy wood aromas, tart and sweet fruit notes make this German whiskey a pleasure. A great whiskey for me. I do not want to think about a comparison with his Scottish colleagues today because I think this malt is very successful in its own way. I have not regretted the purchase of this bottle!
    • Nose
Clear and shiny, dark amber shimmers out of the glass. Oily and tough streaks adhere to the glass wall and slowly and leisurely search for a way back into the glass. Roasted grain and cereal rises powerfully on the first nosing. The relatively high alcohol content of 54% is slightly tickling and tickling on the nose, while a sweet vanilla note of fruity cereal rises. A subtle port aroma comes to the fore, dried grapes and berries mix with spicy wood elements. The alcohol has become very dominant in the meantime, but does not interfere with nosing. A subtle touch of orange lifts up and seconds later becomes slightly musty and musty, a touch of leather and sweet tobacco leaves come into their own.
    • Taste
Refreshingly fruity and slightly sweet, the barrel Proof unfolds its voluminous aroma. Slightly sour grapes and berries mix with spicy woody elements, and the wood is crisp, with a hint of pepper. Bitter fruit and wood aromas suddenly dominate the taste and give off a fruity blend of wood and berry. The second sip of the woody spiciness is subtly bitter, a hint of tobacco leaves and hot espresso comes to light. At the end of the taste, an intense and bitter walnut flavor is created.
    • Finish
The tart wood notes and the slightly sour fruit flavors exude a cozy warmth. The walnut aroma becomes more intense and dry, the roasted cereal flavors are again briefly in the finish. The wooden sharpness returns shortly before the end of the finish, before bitter wood tones and old walnut aromas remain in memory for an extremely long time.
