  1. dRambo scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

very concentrated, very intense, very fruity, very cool, that at the age - if I had blindly estimated at least 18years, like with very good
    • Nose
lush, fragrant plum compote with cinnamon - passed raspberries and redcurrants, concentrated cherry candy with menthol, oily sweetness with vanilla, tobacco with honey, sherry notes that are very waxy, pouring out of the glass, a pinch of nutmeg, slight seldom sparkling touch of rotten old wood / Damp cellar, complex spicy, spicy wood notes, with some time - oranges, juicy intensive oranges, sprigs dough
    • Taste
tingles fruity voluminous explosive on the tongue syringe as high-quality Crimean (like effervescent powder - non-alcoholic - entertaining, exciting), the aromas unfold cascading, heavy fruity grape must, dates, roasted caramelized almonds, chocolate, leather, grape seeds, sour cherry jam, iced coffee with cream, Roasting aromas, vegetable bitter substances, pepper, chili
    • Finish
fruity, peppery, spicy, some mint, darkly bitter-creamy medium-long vanilla and oak are very long on the tongue

Nose: Initially strong Sweet with roasted candied almonds, an association of crème brûlée and vanilla followed by plums and a slightly earthy note combined with something that reminds me of wet cellars and tobacco. Light gunpowder, pulmoll cherry and with more oxygen an association with sherry-infused, rotten, wet wood with typical tartar accents and sparkling orange. Taste: Short sweet, caramelized but burnt sugar, raisins, plums, sweet cherries / cherry jam and chocolate accompanied by a pleasant tingling in the mouth. In the course comes a whole torrent of roasted aromas and slightly spicy oak tones that let me associate old leather couch and tobacco combined with a very elegant acidity. A finish with a light residual fruit in the form of cherry, dark chocolate and sweetened coffee. Conclusion: A delicious GlenDronach, which in any case looks older than he is. The variety of flavors is excellent for a 12-year old whisky.

  7. Ivynor scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

A good glendronach, but a little young and quite expensive.
    • Nose
A little varnish, mocha, a lot of wood, hazelnut, a little green walnut in the background, with a certain freshness.
    • Taste
Pretty creamy, and especially good sherry: hazelnut, plum, mocha, chocolate ... The whole is greedy, easy, maybe a little young and slightly grassy.
    • Finish
Medium, a little lively. We could hope for more. Wood, coffee, chocolate, plum ...

  8. Tommyknocker scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

he's got a really good barrel despite his young age. There was an 11-year-old for Premiumcask, who was even better. But here's a top PLV!
    • Nose
Pure: here is the "Glendronach magic" da.Chocolate and fruity Sherry board, blackberry jelly, dark blood orange, cherry liqueur. Delicious! With water: more vanilla and caramel, a little less boring thereby, the rest of the flavors package is still there but toned.
    • Taste
Pure: very full, a lot of sherry and just as much yellow, juicy fruit, pear, grapefruit, neat oak, not really spicy, a palate flattering. He can really convince! With water: smarter, not so powerful, the chocolate notes are now dominating. Top!
    • Finish
medium long, a lot of sherry stays, dark chocolate.

  9. Gaija scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Typical Christmasy Glendro which certainly retails for a fair price. The nose lacks a bit of outward sexyness for it to be a total cracker, but I'm sure I'd manage to go up till 90 if the bottle had the time to oxidize a bit.
    • Nose
Very woody and quite sulfury at first sniffs, on chick peas and paprika, juniper, almost barny. Let's let it breathe, seems like it really needs to. To be noted that this was a pour from a just newly opened bottle, sherry monsters often benefit from bottle oxidation, so take all that with a grain of salt. Later, appear some better notes of grilled walnuts, blackcurrant.
    • Taste
Flawless here. Deep dark fruits, bitter brownies and demerara sugar. Slight cinnamon, not too woody here. Buttery cocoa.
    • Finish
Very cake-y, and very long, with a nice return on bittersweet blackcurrant crème after that.

  10. Bishlouk scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

It had been a while since I had crossed a "Glendro" that I like so much. It reminds me of the official 21 years (more vigorous) or even some 1993 single cask. He is older than his age. As for the type of Sherry, my hand to cut that it's Oloroso and not PX; it is pile hair this kind of profile! In short, only positive, what!
    • Nose
Haaa, I find the (good) feelings of Glendronach that I like, well "Sherry" as it should. Christmas spices, roasted vanilla, black plum, blackcurrant, lacquered wood, shabby grapes, caramelized brown sugar. A very greedy nose, typical Glendronach. And alcohol does not attack the nostrils.
    • Taste
In the mouth, the first sip is still quite rough, alcohol is felt. From the second, it goes like a letter to the post. Caramel, black fruit, raisin, Christmas spices, vanilla wood, orange zest. The total, in a good way!
    • Finish
Average. Soft tobacco covers the throat. Noble wood at the palace level. The spicy caramel remains a moment in the mouth, accompanied by black plum. Residual heat persists.
