    • Nose
Leather, deep sherry, dry wood. More and more warm with hazelnuts and a subtle note of cocoa. Less dry with a little water.
    • Taste
Cooked wine, tobacco, spices. Alcohol is really well integrated. Flowing texture. The addition of water gives it a sweet side and boosts the hints of honey.
    • Finish
Reminiscent of the juicy side of sherry and the dry, tannic side of oak. It is covered with water.

      Enthusiasm 4/5
      Whisky n ° 1789

Dark, traces of leather, tobacco, dried plums, heavy sherry influence, earthy. Than the spices kick in, some white pepper, oak, and peat. Just wonderful how peaty this malt gets. the finish is just incredible long lasting. Peaty notes mix with the dark fruits and Star there forever. Wow! For me a masterpiece of malt!

I tasted the sample imported from the Whisky Festival 2017. Excellent whisky, I compared it directly with GlenDronachem 14 yo 1996 Cask 202, which stylishly come to me similar but still quite different. Slàinte mhath!
    • Nose
The smell is strong, dense, heavy and rich. Cinnamon, raisins, plums, cut leather, plums, overripe figs and dates, milk chocolate are mixed in. Above all, there is pine winds and only light smoke, reminding me of pungent smoke from wet or raw wood at the campfire. (93 b)
    • Taste
In the first impression, the taste is slightly sweet and spicy. Then a large portion of heavy sherry, raisins, chocolate and tanned wood enters. Although it is peated whisky, but peat is probably overflowing here, perhaps there is only a flutter, but it comes to me that it is even less than in the aroma, and even there was a mess. Otherwise, the tongue acts to mature, the strength of the alcohol is not sharp, for 30 years in the barrel it has probably shaved edges. (91 b)

The nose is no doubt, it's a sherry.
Superbly powerful and long, sherry is very present but the malt comes out of the distillate.
Finale on the edge of the razor with a bitterness that can not overcome the fruit.

    Wow
    • Nose
Magnificent. Polished wood, bananas, tea, jasmine, sultanas, raspberries. Hint of smoke.
    • Taste
Fruit, bananas, more peat but still faint. Like a very old bowmore laimrig.
    • Finish
      Very long finish, cinnamon
