  1. Bishlouk scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

A beautiful Speysider, well done, balanced, and nice. It is not against drinking quickly, it must give him time to develop and reveal itself; at the risk of missing out.
    • Nose
Lemon syrup, sweet vanilla, muesli, a fine hazelnut smoke that flees. Gourmand yellow fruit paste. After aeration, a tenuous floral freshness appears.
    • Taste
The lemon syrup is more tangy than the nose. Vanilla malt, yellow apple. The mouth is more classic, less complex than the nose.
    • Finish
A kick of dry malt. Vanilla is always coming its way. Pinches of spices, and a wood that caresses the palate.

dry spicy spirit, light fruity and malty, with quite some grain.
I read quite some different taste notes down here, and as well that oxidation does it well, perhaps i did not give my samples enough time?

It's been more than a year since my last review. I have now finished the bottle and I must say, the oxidation did good. In my book The whisky gained two points, to 90. It's now even more fruity. Mango, pineapple, fresh, ripe pear and apple sauce. It also gained some nutty, woody aroma's like coconut and cinnamon. I love it!

  12. mister glenfarclas scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Malty fresh with dominant caramel and vanilla. Yellow, dried fruits. Floral notes as well. Fresh mint, lemongrass. Maybe a hint of chili in the back.
    • Taste
Starting initially sweet. Classic, old style malt whisky. Caramel and vanilla once again being dominant. Definitely some chili now. First time the oak is showing up now. Giving it some bitter, rusty flavors.
    • Finish
More and more dry with a numb mouth feeling.

the nose is awesome - unfortunately he can not compete with the palate for a long time and drops off sharply
    • Nose
sweet, light wax and aniseed notes, subtle delicate floral aromas of jasmine and orange, canned pineapple, sour mango, heavy ripe grapefruit syrup notes, lime, physalis, yellow kiwi, candied sugar, mint, rose water, birch water, bay leaf, nutmeg
    • Taste
Lime juice, biscuit dough, chalk, lemon drops, grapefruit dish with citrus oil and mint
    • Finish
spicy, light wood, slightly resinous tree juice, increasingly dry, pepper, olive wood, laurel, green walnut shells

Very nice whisky, delicious fruity and sweet, with nice firm base.
    • Nose
Fruity, orange, citrus, apple. Sweet too, honey, vanilla, apricot. Full smell.
    • Taste
Light pepper, full and firm, but also fruity and sweet. Orange, honey, tropical fruits.
    • Finish
Light peppers still, tropical fruit, honey. Pretty long, wood tones too.

Excellent malty fruitiness. Citrus, boiled candy (lemon and strawberry), tea biscuits and vanilla sugar. What gets to me the most is the note of wild yeast, like a sourdough starter. Great stuff.

  20. KayMeertens scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    Quite Littlemill-ish. 87/88.
    • Nose
Lots of vanilla cake. Grain cookie, porridge. Soft maltiness making this nose. Then apricot. Water adds a light citrus touch.
    • Taste
Vanilla cake, porridge, blood orange, pepper and passion fruit.
    • Finish
Vanilla cake, porridge, apple and vanilla pudding.

    Compared with Tormore 1990 McC

    Tasted with rwillemze
    • Nose
Marzipan, fruity, some mint, appel and honey.
    • Taste
Fruity, malty - oatmeal, vanilla and yellow fruits.  Later nougat and semolina. This Tormore needs some time to open up.
    • Finish
Malty, citrus - bitter fruits, vanilla - custard and a floral note.
