2332'90 - how I adore this empty Bomo kerosene lamp!
Gauze bandage with iodine (especially in aromatics), dry seaweed on rubber tires of a rusty longboat, pencil lead, juicy oysters on a fire (in taste)

  2. Mannix65 scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Dominant Virgin Oak - something for American Bourbons fnas, but unfortunately not for me
    • Nose
Sour caramel, violet soap, prominent alcoholic strength, subtle smoky notes - with water we he more accessible and calls milk chocolate and herbs to light
    • Taste
Caramel, spicy herbs, milk chocolate and roasted aromas
    • Finish
      sour, spicy, spicy and short

    I loved ! Enthusiasm 5/5 Whisky n ° 1455
    • Nose
Chocolate malt with a maritime note. Burnt wood. A hyper atypical but tasty combination of marshmallows and solvent (bourbon type). Beautiful vanilla.
    • Taste
Soft, fruity. The peat is forgotten. Not so spicy. Round and mature.
    • Finish
Very long, fruity (ripe peach), subtly bitter. Peaty aftertaste.

[June, 2016]  I had this dram during a "Feis Ile 2016" tasting at Bonn.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 80.  I took no detailed notes as this whisky did not interest me.

Tasty, very tasty ... to rest but not enough. So to 80, 90 ¬ I could go along already ... 55GBP were for Feis Isle a very fair issue price, current secondary market prices should not pay.
    • Nose
dry, sawdust, caramel, very light smoke, very cozy or closed, -> there must be pure water: wood and caramel are stronger, milk chocolate, a little burned, a little peppery and yes, a mild brandy note
    • Taste
very sweet, a lot of caramel and chocolate, burned cocoa macaroons, then when you "chew" slowly kräutriger and bitter, herbal liqueur, cough syrup - mjam
    • Finish
long, warm and tasty, pepper, salt liquorice, herbal bitters

Another underdeveloped Feis Ile 2016 expression. This one is starting very promising on the nose but the palate is too hot. The alcohol is distinctively present.

    Concerning price/performance ratio: 6/10
    • Nose
Sweet smoke. A pleasant mix of oak and oloroso. Fruits, caramel, some spices, rum chocolate.
    • Taste
Sherry, very dry oak, very spicy, some fruits, pepper, smoke, some herbs.
    • Finish
      Long. Chocolate and oak.

In terms of taste, he really enjoyed all the people involved in a tasting, the herbal notes were more reminiscent of mint, but the nose is already scary ...

Definitely the best PLV of Feis Ile Bottlings. For £ 55 you get (got) a really well made Bowmore.
    • Nose
It starts fruity with a distinct Sherrynote, light campfire smoke mixed with grated lemon zest, I also find a floral note that reminds me a little of the violets of the older Bowmores, but not intrusive, it is always a fresh undertone, old leather, and also clearly oak, salsify, the two barrel types make an interesting interaction, ok that's definitely the Bowmorefeilchen, even chocolate or Lumumba, after the first sip, the fruit note is really intense and sweet, a bit artificial as chewing gum
    • Taste
creamy onset, with chocolate, sherry, intense, fruity, dark fruits, sweet, here too a small violet, then again the oak, it is dry and spicy, barely noticeable smoke, the back comes out a little more clearly
    • Finish
The finish is rather short, fruity sweetness, a little oak, slightly nutty, he quickly invites to the next sip
