For my wife and I it was the absolute highlight to be able to taste such a whisky. Many thanks to Dirk for making this experience possible for us!

We opened our sample for Valentine's Day on February 14, 2021 and tasted it in our cellar bar with a record with 70s rock 'n roll, i.e. music from the time when the HP went into the bottle.

An absolute experience at the right time, in the right place.

First of all, a whiff of soap rose up my nose, which I knew from older bottlings from the 80s.

Then a true symphony of perfectly coordinated nuances opens up, which carries us through an unbelievable variety of aromas over the next 45 minutes.

The 43% vol. are exactly right and give the single malt a strong start.

You can't and don't really want to stop soaking up this wonderful aroma, absorbing and internalizing this great fresh balance.

First we encounter a fresh grain field and rock candy. The initially dominant soap is still slightly in the background.

The single malt is constantly changing. If you think you have captured an aroma, it slowly fades into the background and completely new worlds of taste are presented again.

Suddenly a fresh, juicy lemon comes, followed by a Scottish morning freshness, which I still remember very well from the daily running training through the beautiful landscape during my visits to the island.

The whisky is generally incredibly virgin, not a bit dusty, despite the decades in the bottle.

It continues with honeydew melon, dark chocolate, forest honey again, then a meadow of flowers, especially dandelions.

      Just unbelievable.

After about 45 minutes, the time has come: we try.

At first the soap again. Suddenly the complete intension for the red-pink ski water, which we ordered as children for a mountain break at the hut.

A sweet explosion, I'm sorry, but I can't believe this, it's a spectacle, a feast of flavors in perfection. Ingenious and unique. I haven't been allowed to try something like this, my wife feels the same way.
    • Finish

      Flowery, gentle, velvety. Wonderful.
