    Needs a few months air. The port sweetness fades into the background and a few touches of iodine and bandages appear... very nice Bowie.

    I probably would not have recognized him as Bowmore in the nose. In the mouth, the Bowmore smoke is already there. Overall, the malt for me but relatively bright and fresh. Interesting experience. However, nothing I have to buy.
    • Nose
      Somehow the smoke in my nose does not remind me so much of Bowmore. Of course, smoke is clearly noticeable. But drier than I know it from Bowmore. In addition, sour, wet soil and wet, older leaves. In addition still nature-dark apple juice with a splash of lemon. I also hear fresh wood. Overall, the aroma is relatively fresh.
    • Taste
      In the mouth now comes through this flowery smokiness of Bowmore. Then some orange blossom honey. Malaga ice cream. Maybe something Fanta maybe Fanta tangerine. Tree resin. Now rather orange peel and pomegranate.
    • Finish
      Salt licorice. Mediterranean spice mixture. Implied canned mandarins. Grapefruit. Sour smoke.

    • Nose
      F: white wine little alcohol, closed - takes time, then comes the retort fruit
    • Taste
      Sweet - spicy, light body, over time gummy bears, a hint of smoke
    • Finish
      alcoholic, sweet and fruity

    An unusual Bowmore. But somehow not. The white port is not that intense to put a stamp on the whisky. He seems to be through here and there. I like it a lot, but I have a hard time with the "very good", at least today. Maybe I'll correct myself. A good 2.
    • Nose
      gentle smoke, the Bowmore-typical sea aroma is only very discreet, a little mellow wood, a touch of vinous sweetness; sweet, light fruits (grapes?). Over time, a little bit of fish stock (so what maritime). Relatively gentle nose, you have to make an effort. After a few minutes, she gets sweeter and the port pushes a little to the fore.
    • Taste
      strong start with a good portion of salt and peat, pepper, with candied orange peel, some salt caramel and some neat bittern notes. The port is not recognizable as such for me here.
    • Finish
      a bit salty, a bit bitter, orange peel. The fish fund comes from the sinking. And of course, the whole thing is accompanied by a nice smoky note

    I do not know if White Port is a bit weaker, but the Bowmore does not really have much of a finish. He has no typical port-barrel influences, if you give him his time, he shows in the aroma complex and unusual. Still, it suits me to give time / win quality - not relationship.

      medium strong smoke, salty sea air, Salmiak sweets, licorice snails, toasted bread with salted butter, swimming pool, shoe polish, later slowly bright fruits sneak in, immature mangoes, green bananas, heathland biscuits, throat dragon throat drops, no "Bowmore -Lavender"
    • Taste
      supple on the go, rooibos tea, subtle and delicate smoke, pleasant and balanced and now a bit more fruit
    • Finish
      herb, parsley, has a refreshing and faded medium length, leaves in the mouth a rather unspectacular impression, in the neck, however, nice and warm

    This Bowmore does not meet my taste 100%. The port adds too few flavors and the whisky has apparently lost some smoke in subtractive maturation. The Präfüm note is not mine. Nevertheless a successful, if not a great, bottling.
    • Nose
      The nose is initially dominated by the smoke of a cold campfire. After that, the port will impact with broth and the wort of damp wood.
    • Taste
      The taste offers first perfumed sweetness like lavender chocolates, but then gets saltier and saltier. With water, the port influences become stronger: As with the aroma, broth and oak dominate.
    • Finish
      A beautiful long finish that oscillates between salt, medicinal notes, medium-bitter chocolate and spicy smoke.

    Alambic Classique, especially the Double Matured Collection, is always like a box of chocolates for me - you never know what you'll get when I'm allowed to play Forrest Gump a little differently at this point. Some think I'm great, others, like the new 1992 Glen Keith, leave me speechless in the truest sense of the word. The Bowmore 17yo with its brilliant light golden color belongs to my taste clearly the first mentioned faction. The slightly smoky, fruity-maritime combination of the rather rare white sweet wine barrel from the northern Portuguese Douro Valley with the 1st Fill Bourbon storage is both round and complex. Neither in the nose, nor on the palate are false notes recorded. Very nice spicy and without excessive alcohol influences it comes. Finish / Conclusion: Warm and long on the finish. The slight smoky note draws the Brennereicharakter to the finish and underpins there the Port sweetness and fruitiness, towards the end slightly salty and calcareous. Very beautiful! Repurchase: Yes. He is certainly anything but given, but for a double-matured, 17-year-old, Islay Single Cask priced just not completely covered. All in all, the quality and thus also the PLV is correct, especially as white port wine in the malt area is anything but ordinary.

    Official tasting notes: Aroma: Meat broth, dry intense smoke, cold chimney ashes, moist moss, freshly beaten oak, iodine containing sea air.
    Taste: First medicinal, meat broth, oily, iodised salt, then some toffee, chocolate with salted almonds.
    Aftertaste: Warm, powerful and oily on the finish, still medicinal, with intense slightly bitter dark chocolate. An exceptional Bowmore.

    A wonderful, very well-made whisky, which clearly shows its origin from the Islay Island and also does not hide the distilling character of Bowmore. Very nice single malt!
    • Nose
      First, campfire smoke and sweet, some vanilla, bright fruits, followed by moist moss, seaweed and a slightly salty sea breeze.
    • Taste
      Powerful with pleasant smoke, sweetness, vanilla, toffee, chocolate and spices. He opens his mouth and fills it pleasantly
    • Finish
      Long and warm, sweet with cool smoke and again there are the spicy wood notes on the barrel and dark chocolate
