  1. Lu Cifer scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Labelled as being distilled at "Probably Speyside's Finest Distillery," better known as Glenfarclas, in 1968. This was bottled by Douglas Laing & Co. in March 2009 as part of their Old Malt Cask series. This 40 Year Old was charged from a sherry butt which yielded only 361 bottles.
    • Nose
      92 92
beguiling with fine sherry notes, dried fruits but also apples and oranges, old dry oak, spices / baking spices, idea herbaceous and nutty. Very pleasant and appealing.
    • Taste
      91 91
slightly sweet and spicy, a little oily, wood / oak notes, a hint of freshly ironed laundry, spices, a little bit of barrel tart and a little dark chocolate. A few drops of water make it softer and more open, followed by dried fruits, oranges, nuts and baking spices. Yummy!
    • Finish
      89 89
with oak / wood notes, spices, a little orange, sweetish-tart, slightly nutty. Finally, a little beer (light malty) fades away.

  2. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

Also absolutely great malt, almost perfect example of a great Oloroso cask to look at, just a little chalk in the finish and not very varied, but otherwise super tasty.
    • Nose
Oloroso dream, perfect nut chocolate, hazelnut, walnut, chestnut, roasted almonds, full milk chocolate, boiled red apple, some rum raisins, cinnamon, clove
    • Taste
Rum raisins right here, black cherries, more like 55%, power and dark, walnut, camphor, saffron, black tea, cinnamon, red apple, nice meaty notes, roasted malt, marzipan, dark honey, oiled leather, oiled chest of drawers
    • Finish
More tea, drying out, raisins, nutmeg, blood orange, oak chips, hints of chalk, long

    Undisclosed Glenfarclas.

Very sweet with hints of honey, chocolate,
white pepper, hot peppers, root spices. Also some notes of oak. Hints of oranges
      with sugar.
