An atypical tomatin which is very wood spice orientated and quite dry. I have to say this is not really my kind of whisky. It lacks a bit of depth and is almost to dry for my linking. some water bring out the sweeter character of this dram but at the same time accentuates the dry bitterness.
All in all an interesting and atypical Tomatin to taste but not my kind of whisky.
    • Nose
A sweet, spicy yet subtle whisky with aromas of pepper, citrus (lemon peel, tangerine, orange, grapefruit), green apple, pear, a slight medicinal tone (camphor??), canned tangerines, hint of sea breeze, floral tones, hay, cinnamon, stale tones, wet cardboard, a slight metallic tone, earthy tones, sugar and oak.
    • Taste
A powerful, slightly sharp, dry and spicy whisky with aromas of pepper, chili, stale tones, hot ginger, camomile tea, tannins, cold green tea, apple, vanilla, acacia honey, icing sugar, grape seeds, hay, gras, green grapes and bitter oak.
    • Finish
A medium long and very dry finish with aromas of cold green tea, grapefruit peels, cane sugar, birchwood, and oak.
