Fill: just below the top of the label. Colour: light gold. Lots of flakes of sediment.
I got this mini for £7.71 in April of 2023.

And this is one of the best drams I've ever had. It is a difficult one, towards the end of the dram I found myself wanting for more fruitiness and less dryness, but it's still one of my favourite whiskies so far. The smoke has evolved into dozens of tertiery flavours and it's quite amazing, to my senses in any case. Tertiery smoke-derived impressions, chocolate, honeys, herbs, flowers (geraniums and boxwood), really mineral, spicy, very waxy, a bit fruity with citrus fruits, pineapples. Amazing. 92 - 94 points is about right for me, depending on the mood.
    • Nose
Smells stronger than 46%, and really good! Geraniums, dry leaves, the best and darkest of chocolates, pure lemon juice, grapefruits. Really complex and layered. Now it's shifting into territories of (pleasant) gunpowder, burning old newspapers, ashes, really spicy wood, and heather smoke; before turning back to herbal and fruity impressions such as mint leaves, eucalyptus, herbal teas, lemons, limequats (I have a wee limequat tree at my partner's), honeydew, pineapple juice, zest, pith, orchards. But it's the dryness that wins, this is bone dry, but better for it, in my opinion. It's also really spicy (peppercorns, cardamom, cloves) and full to the brim with waxes and minerals. Before I forget to mention - honeys, sherbet powder, a touch of brine, farmyard aromas, and something akin to English boxwood (the smelly one). This dram also contains the best of white wines - what a surprise.
    • Taste
Where to start?? Ash, rich honeys, eucalyptus, nettles, boxwood, pineapples, lemon juice, iodine - it all happens at once before it begins to fit into layers, with a layer of chocolates forming first. It's superbly honeyed and fruity, yet super mineral, herbal, and dry. And spicy. And waxy. Lacquer and leather show up, soon to be replaced by pineapple juice, limequats, figs, or limestone and graphite, or any other of dozens of flavours.
    • Finish
Graphite, geraniums, really waxy, full of smoke that has split into dozens of tertiery impressions, etcetera etcetera. Maybe fruitier than the nose and palate, which isn't unwelcome at all. Once again it's super complex and the intensity of each flavour is just about perfect for me. Anything from the nose or palate can be found here, and vice versa. But if you let the whisky guide you out, the finish focusses more on rich honeyed dimensions and tons of tertiery smoke-derived flavours, along with waxes and fruits (especially grapefruits and pineapple juice), and more! It goes without saying that this is a very long finish fit for such a mighty dram. By the way, the texture and body of this dram is amazing.
