    Strongly sweet sherry, raisins, maybe plums in the nose? But the sweetness dominates very clearly. The typical sherry board that you can expect at First Fill, even if it pokes in the back of the nose, so the 'entrance to the brain' (hehe) a bit ... on the palate then very sherrylastig, thick almost like syrup. The mouth is directly covered with fog. Sweet, honey notes, brown sugar, raisins, nuts ... trail mix (but without yoghurt drops;) and a pleasant spice - great! Finish long to medium long. The mouthfeel lingers for a long time, the cask strength is noticeable, but is kept at bay by the dominant sweetness. A memory of chocolate remains. Bright chocolate with raisin pieces. A great malt! However, I can not find the typical Springbank association of hay and old barn - the influence of the very good barrel was too enormous! 90 points.

    A ggod one but I found it a bit lacking on the palate

      Turkish delight, sherry, Rum & Raisin ice cream, black currant
    • Taste
      A little cardboard bitterness mixed in with the dark fruits and there is some coffee in the mix. Its quite woody also

      Medium length, with a little bitterness

    It's a good sherried Whisky, but it does lack distillery character, which should not surpise anyone after 19 years in a fresh hogshead.
    • Nose
      Very heavy oak at first. Then some mint and a quite a bit of aniseed. Raisins, Rum, Marmalade and all that other Sherry stuff. Some tobacco and chocolate. If you expect Springbank character on the nose, you will be dissapointed. Nothing of it remains here. At least that's what i get.
    • Taste
      Again woody, but this time more on wet/damp/old wood paired with old books. Mint, Chocolate, rose water. Dusty. Goes on with some plum sauce. Get's a little more earthy. Some caramel + baked apple.
    • Finish
      Long and Oaky. Plums, aniseed, earth, farmy.

    What a bank! The fits but sometimes 100% in my prey scheme. Despite the "fresh sherry casks", the whisky skillfully sets the other flavors in scene. Springer from a certain age (15+) and sherry barrels ... that just suits me
    • Nose
      Raisins and chocolate; with a good portion of dark, dry sherry; a subtle touch of dirty sulfur that goes perfectly with the chocolate; There is also a slight hint of menthol from the alcohol, which does not bother at all, but highlights the individual aromas very nicely; Canned cherries and prunes are added after a while and the sulfur flavor becomes stronger; Overall, it is also much sweeter and it adds pleasant roasted aromas
    • Taste
      very nice creamy with a very spicy, but also sweet sherry note; Dark wood and great roast aromas again; coffee is also included this time; dark red apples and again cherries; the chocolate with the raisins is also back; Over time, the flavors change into a fruity sweetness
    • Finish
      medium; beautiful, not too dominant sweetness; again coffee and roasted aromas; getting dry; spicy oak; now comes this typical Springbank character with this slightly dirty, subtle smoke note; on the palate, it remains spicy and soy back; At the end, the oak tree pushes really nice again

    Another very nice Springbank. Despite the colour, it's not a typical sherry bomb.
    • Nose
      Gentle smoke and whiffs of sulphur strike first. When it settles down, beautiful fruity notes of apricots, peaches, apples, mango and raisins come forward, together with vanilla, sugar and salt.
    • Taste
      Sweet, more sherry influence than the nose promises. Toffee, caramel, raisins, milk chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and a hint of smoke. Quite complex.
    • Finish
      Long, powerful, on rather heavy smoke but still with a clear fruity side.

    • Nose
      Exotic fruits, orange, coffee and fudge. Some sulpher, pastry and dark chocolate - Chokotoff.
    • Taste
      Exotic fruits - papaya, some forest fruits and spices - pepper. Caramel and a briny note - salt.
    • Finish
      Leather, cane sugar, raisins and some fire works/gun powder.
