  1. Archer scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

With the 15yo in 2005 the resurrection of the Irish Single Pot Still Whiskeys took place. First bottled in a small batch for a French whiskey dealer, it became available soon after.
Still a classic representative of the single pot still whiskey from Midleton. Not as boisterous as the 12yo, not as fruity-sweet as the 21yo, but fine and dignified. Of that you can always have a bottle open.
    • Nose
      91 91
The nose is very spicy and voluminous; slightly pungent at the beginning.
Ripe red berries work their way through the Pot Still spices.
If you let the whiskey breathe, rose water comes to light, after a while figs and dates.
The more contact with oxygen he has, the smoother and rounder the whiskey becomes. The berry sweetness pushes the spices aside with time and gives the 15 yo a fruity-fresh touch.
    • Taste
      90 90
Unusually fruity onion with figs and prunes on the tongue. Oily and dense, mouth-filling and warming.
Sherry and oak notes pass by. Also, for a short while, the taste of ripe melons, as one can find it (among many other fruits), even in 21 yo.
Although mild spices are also found on the tongue, they are not as intense as one would expect from the nose.
Vanilla fudge and milk chocolate out back.
    • Finish
      89 89
Long, fine-spicy, with hints of plum and some oak.
