Not exciting, but a good cheap and cheerful session whisky.

interesting nose unfortunately a bit weak in taste
    • Nose
First, some fruit ... something of something and a few floral notes with some malt
    • Taste
sweetness followed quickly by some bitterness towards straw :-)
    • Finish
      Means still a bit bitter

Nothing spectacular, but nothing wrong in this first NAS glencadam and good to start a whisky career.
    • Nose
This one takes a few minutes to open up and doesn't give a lot away. A light sherry and vanilla sweetness, a little malt and a few floral notes.
    • Taste
Nothing complex, easy going, little pepper, fruit and more wood tones coming after.
    • Finish
Short finish, drying out the mouth ending with more wood and a little bitterness at the very end.

I rather enjoyed the fresh and lively nose of the Glencadam Origin 1825, however the taste unfortunately doesn’t follow through quite so successfully. That said, at a shy over £25 it’s well priced for a unchallenging everyday style whisky.

    • Nose
A nicely pronounced combination of sweet fruits and malts. Mixed red berried and tropical fruit notes are livened by honeycomb and a heavy dose of vanilla. At the heart there is a real maltiness, at the edges, earthy spice and delicate florals. The sweetness here reminds me somewhat of the nose of a grain whisky.
    • Taste
The immediate arrival is a lot less expressive than the nose, and alas also fairly thin. However, this is improved greatly after a period of resting – surprisingly so. The taste is less malty and much more fruity than the nose – pineapples and bananas take centre stage alongside some apple notes (perhaps apple crumble) and a vanilla custard.
    • Finish
Short to medium with some peppery wood notes coming across.

For the price, a cool thing
    • Nose
Sweet-fruity, tropical fruits (canned pineapple), baked bananas, vanilla, Prittstiftartige sticky sweet reminiscent of marzipan
    • Taste
less fruity than the nose, spicy-peppery, light sweet
    • Finish
      medium

Well done. Whether 32 € for NAS with 40% in principle are appropriate, everyone must decide for themselves, but that is interesting and delicious, the fresh bourbon barrels have done a good job. In Scotland, there are also 10- or 12-year boredom for 30-35 €. Compared to the 10 Glencadam I made a decision difficult, which is better.
    • Nose
very nice exotic fruitiness, grapefruit, papaya (Haribo tropifrutti), in the background cereals, straw, wholegrain biscuits, a hint of nutmeg / clove
    • Taste
not as open-hearted as the nose, but tidy: sweet, grainy, of the fruits remains a little grapefruit and lime bitterness, but a floral perfume note, pepper (you can already see a youthful bite, for 40% quite strong, but not sprittig). .. after a long time in the mouth milk chocolate is added
    • Finish
medium length, reminds me of A & Z cuts:

Oke and easy malt. Decent welcome to Glencadam, but the 10 is a big step up. Nothing more.
