[October, 2019] A younger fairly priced 'farclas is a must try, what else...

...and this is an easy drinkable dram without flaws and highlights. Some years ago such bottles were offered at half of this price but these times are long gone, sadly.
    • Nose
      86 86
The colour is burnished and the nose is a little punchy first and offers a rather shy modern sherry profile which is herbal-driven. Not many other aromas shine through and I am too lazy to search for them tonight.
    • Taste
      88 88
The taste is quite simple too: a modern herbal-sherried dram where the wine is in balance with the sugary flavours of the malt and the herbs and spices of the wood. Easy drinkable and without flaws - I suggest to chew it for a while because fine dark chocolatey flavours pop up this way.
    • Finish
      85 85
The dram arrives warming but just a little coating on the palate with some drying moments (cold metals). The finish is rather short and adds no new impressions, unfortunately. Water releases more malty aromas in the nose (waxes, honeys) but turns the taste flat. I like the neat dram best.
