N: Wow, old, old stuff - deep, so deep with squidgy curd and lime jelly. The Port Dundas grain base is chatty but not overwhelming.
T: Rather strong. i prefer it with a little water which brings out the oily, tarry, shipyard notes - old oak bows skipper! Looking at what goes into this blend describes the complexity in its own right - namely Port Ellen, Caperdonich, Mosstowie, Glenisla, Glenlochy and Imperial as well as the Port Dundas base.]
F: Oily, deep and dark boat yards continue to sail. Long finish with a sour-cream/clotted cream reprise [didnt make a note of where it came in before, but it did!]
C: I didn’t find batch 6 WB to my liking at all, but batch 7 hits the mark almost as much as batch 5 WB. A fabulous blend of proper old vintages we struggle to find today. This creation brings many of the lost distilleries together to create a sensation you couldn’t get back then.
