I am amazed of myself that I feel him so against all other voices, but compared to the aforementioned Bulleit, this is "pure harmony". OK, it is very spicy, but for me absolutely in the frame and tasty. On the subject of "Whiskey of the Year": Ahem no. For me it is an average whiskey, which on the bottom line is of higher quality than the Bulleit, for example, but let's put it this way: I don't find it inappropriate that it comes in a one-liter bottle.
    • Nose

Obviously spicy, but also a little "just alcohol picks" in the nose (albeit slightly). Now it becomes subjective, because anyone who has already emptied a bottle of "Bulleit Rye" with 95% rye content in the past will probably not find it so spicy. If you get used to the spiciness and let the alcohol evaporate, the spiciness is weakened with a gentle veil of "mildness". I'm not exactly sure where this opposite pole comes from.
    • Taste
      80 80
OK now it's clear. Wow, I didn't expect that. Primarily it doesn't taste spicy, but vanilla-sweet and very soft as butter. Spiciness (very slightly peppery) can only be felt at the edge. In subsequent gaps, more spiciness remains on my palate, which is complemented by a light oak woodiness.
    • Finish
      80 80
In the end it becomes bitter on the tongue and the rest remains in the mouth.
