  1. didi1893 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Young and wild, powerful and intense! For only 8 years this Glenrothes has an incredibly intense and multi-layered aroma, the barrel must have been extremely active. If it weren't for the extremely high alcohol content, I would have predicted it would be older. A very great bottling, absolutely undervalued for me!

    • Nose
Bright reddish copper shines in the Premium Snifter, dried grapes and berries rise powerfully, caramelized sugar mixes with oranges and mandarins, the alcohol is quite present. Raisins, plums and sour cherries end in chocolate and toffee, hazelnuts and spicy wood tones emerge. The alcohol is very present again, but also somehow harmoniously integrated ... chocolate and mint, again dried fruit and caramel.
    • Taste
The first sip flows creamily through the throat. Caramel, milk chocolate and dried berries start the first sip, here too the alcohol is extremely present, but is not a problem at the moment. Raisins, toffee, caramel, chocolate and roasted hazelnuts stick creamy on the palate, pleasant sharpness tickles on the tongue. I would actually play with a little water now, but the creamy and voluminous nature keeps me from doing so. The saliva is stimulated, chocolate and toffee stick again on the palate, hints of sour cherries and sweet raisins swim in the stimulated saliva under the tongue. Hazelnuts and creamy wood tones herald the aftertaste ...
    • Finish
Dark and sweet sherry flavors rest creamy and oily on the palate, an oily film of caramel and milk chocolate, raisins and a hint of lukewarm espresso sticks to the tongue. The wonderfully intense aromas remain voluminous and long on the palate and stick between the tongue. Fantastic!
