Whisky Reviews for Dalmore 2004

- Nice dram but prefer the 20€ lesser priced Aberlour double cask12. Fruit in the nose, lot of pear. Evoluating to fruit/spice in the mouth and a quite full bodied aftertaste.
- Who says Dalmore says sherry no? Well here we are dealing with an ex-bourbon refined bourbon first fill. Already, the concept ... Finally why not. Stingy nose with aromas: a little creamy, a little woody. On the palate, vaguely caramelized, spices too rough, and final too short! The looooooose!
- Extremely fairly priced for this quality compared to most Dalmore offerings and most young Bourboners in general. Pleasantly surprised to say the least. Simply put : more enjoyable than their new heavily-marketed and shockingly-priced 21 OB, that I tasted side by side.
Typical rich bourbon profile at its best. Wet sawdust, salty fudge, nutty oils and cinnamon.
More of the same with respectable structure and oiliness (46%, hurray !). Woody but not overly so, with quite a lot of butterscotch.
Well-defined again, which is uncommon for generic Dalmore offerings.
