    [Blindtasting Notes]

I liked the nose best, after that it becomes much more arbitrary.

Tip: A blended scotch that was bottled a long time ago, whether chivas or ballantines or similar, I am unable to say. I would estimate 12-15 years old.

it has oomph for 43 percent, and such a slight glue note that you (or I) don't really know whether it comes from the distillate or the barrel. But tap on the latter, it has often happened with older sherry cask maturations. Oooooo, or it's a blend with a noticeable amount of grain (which would also go well with the filling strength). Find it not exactly overly complex, but very pleasant on the nose. Wood, sherry, fruitiness from the spirit: everything is there.

Believe to catch some OBF. And my suspicion of being dazzled is confirmed. A bit watery at the start, then it really gets going in terms of spiciness / sharpness. Unfortunately, the spiciness also takes away some of the aromas. Nice notes of sherry, but otherwise it's a bit too flat on my chest.
    • Finish
      84 84
Mild bitterness, marzipan, Christmas spices, red fruitiness.
